Suar wood comes from the tropical tree Samanea Saman. This is also known as the Monkey pod or Rain Tree.
Suar is a fast growing tropical wood species, known as 1.5 meters per year. The wood has a typical appearance of randomly intertwined veins, this can be a wonderful colour emerge and the wood is very strong.
The tree is characterized by an umbrella-shaped canopy and may 15 to 25 meters high.
Suar is no endangered species in Indonesia.
